In continuing to set industry benchmarks in food safety, the O’Connor facility operates to world’s best practice standards of excellence in processing and plant hygiene and sanitation.
We value education and training. The skilled O’Connor work force is highly trained, with all production employees receiving accredited workplace Certificates in Meat Processing from a Registered Training Organisation. The production team is led by a university educated plant management and QA team with qualifications in safe meat processing.
Our best practice slaughtering and boning techniques ensure a safer, cleaner product with extended shelf life. Our rigorous micro-bacterial testing program is independently evaluated by a National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accredited laboratory.
Food safety begins at the farm, O’Connor is an industry leader in implementing the National Livestock Identification Scheme of animal traceability (NLIS). NLIS is a permanent whole-of-life identification system that enables individual animals to be tracked from property of birth to slaughter to ensure food safety and product integrity.
